The Cannes Film Festival 2013 has come and gone. And even though much focus was on numerous films that were premiered at the festival, what the world really wanted to know was who wore what to the festival and which designer ensembles stood out at the event.
So without further ado, we will take a look at some of the fashion stunners at the Cannes Film Festival 2013. There was a lot of color. There was a lot of bling. And there were a whole lot of experiments on the red carpet! But these celebrities really showed the others a thing or two when it comes to rocking the red carpet look.
We are so used to seeing Jessica Chastain in neutral colors that we were completely awe struck when she appeared at the festival in a dazzling purple colored mermaid silhouette gown from Givenchy.
If it was not the rich color of the gown that floored us, it was the intricate beadwork on it that gave the gown an extra boost. Jessica kept the rest of her ensemble simple by tying her red hair in a ponytail and no jewelry. She looked simply regal nevertheless!
The rest of the festival saw Jessica sporting other interesting ensembles like a Versace gown, a Saint Laurent dress and a red gown with asymmetrical patterns and cut out detailing as well. But it was her purple gown that made her a stunner on the red carpet this year!
As part of the official jury for the Cannes Film Festival 2013, Nicole Kidman had to graze the red carpet on more than one occasion to attend movie screenings. And she made sure each one of her appearances stood out.
Some of the more interesting dresses she captivated our hearts with include the L’Wren Scott dress for the screening of Inside Llewyn Davis, a nude princess lace gown from Valentino for the premiere of Nebraska, a mid-calf length beaded Christian Dior dress and a pure white column silk gown with crystals from Girogio Armani at the closing ceremony. Looking at her grace the red carpet, we could definitely say she hasn’t aged a day in years!
In spite of a wardrobe malfunction on her first outing, Eva Longoria didn’t fail to impress the fashion critics this year as well. She completely floored us with a stunning gold gown from ZuhairMurad at the premiere of ‘Le Passe’.
The tight, backless gown did everything possible to accentuate her beautiful curves. And Eva complemented the look with dangling diamond earrings and a messy ponytail that showed off her toned back!
The ‘Hunger Games’ actress showed off her stunning new haircut and petite figure in a beautiful monochrome gown by Christian Dior. Jennifer may have had a few tiffs with the fashion police before but she managed to silence them this time around with her fabulous sartorial choices. Jennifer’s look was completed with jewelry from Chopard and an elegant clutch from Charolette Olympia.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The gorgeous mummy of one drew flak from fashion critics worldwide last year when she failed to shed her baby fat in time for the festival. But this year, she turned up in a stunner; a black lace couture dress from Elie Saab that showed that the world’s most beautiful woman has indeed lost oodles of weight and is looking slimmer and trimmer.
Aishwarya continued the good run later on in the day when she posed for the media. Looking elegant in a white shirt by Saint Laurent, a black mermaid skirt by Zac Posen and a captivating belt by Armani, she was completely at ease with her style sense. And despite a few fashion misses during the latter part of the festival, Aishwarya bounced back at the Life Ball gala with a shining blue gown from Roberto Cavalli
