First Trimester

Physical Changes

During this period, your breasts may become very sensitive which may result in pain or increased pleasure. It is during the first trimester that your breasts experience the fastest changes. However, this period is accompanied by nausea and fatigue, which may decrease your sexual appetite, and also during sex, you might get the feeling of lingering orgasm and consequently your clitoris and vagina may feel a certain kind of tension.

Emotional Changes

During this time, both you and your partner may experience increased sexual desire, as you no longer have to remain concerned about birth control. Moreover, during this time, you may also remain conflicted about sex because you begin to see yourself from a more motherly point of view.

Second Trimester

Physical Changes

During this period, your vagina is more lubricated and both the vagina and the clitoris become more engorged. This added engorgement may also make you feel orgasmic or multi-orgasmic.

Emotional Changes

At this time, a woman may feel sexier than before because of their new figures while on the other hand, their partner might be very cautious during sex as they might be fearful about hurting the baby. In some cases, it has also been found that many dads even become jealous because of the baby’s extreme closeness with the mother.

Third Trimester

Physical Changes

During the third trimester, you may feel upward spasms in your uterus lasting for a minute or so during your orgasms. This feeling is quite different from the feeling of contractions. However, contractions mainly occur after having sex and while nearing your due date. This type of contractions last for about 30minutes. Moreover, due to the engorgement of your clitoris and vagina, you might not get relief from the sexual tensions even after having orgasms. If the baby’s head is positioned deep in your pelvis then you might experience a little pain or spotting while having sex or after sex and this is considered as normal.

Emotional Changes

For many women, this is also a period of emotional turmoil as most of the mothers may become over conscious of their growing body and might worry about getting back their original figure. This might also make them repulsive to their partner. On the other hand, majority of men actually find their partner more attractive during this period due to their blossoming figure. So, at this point, communication is very essential for continuing a healthy sexual life. However, due to the increased feeling of fatigue, most women might find difficulties in timing.
