Step 1

Boosting your immune system is one of the primary steps in preventing genital warts. The virus called HPV or human papillomavirus causes the little lumps around your genital, which become highly inflamed or itchy with time and are very uncomfortable to deal with. However, with a strong immune system, your body can easily fight and defeat this virus and help in the prevention of the outbreak of genital warts. Imiquimod is a widely popular immune-boosting cream which when applied around the areas prone to wart outbreak can help in preventing future outbreak of these lumps by boosting your immunity.

Step 2

You can also use a prescription antibiotic called podofilox, which is available in the form of solution or a gel. Applying podofilox to your warts helps in destroying them altogether and also protects you from any future outbreaks. For best results, apply it every time you suffer from the outbreak of genital warts, as continuous application will suppress the virus for a longer period.

According to a research, if you can freeze the warts then you can almost get rid of its future outbreaks. Freezing the genital warts involves a special kind of surgery called Cryotherapy in which liquid nitrogen is used to freeze it. This process also promotes blister formation which gradually makes the bumps fall off the skin and allows the formation of a new skin in its place.

Step 4

Laser surgery is another treatment for genital warts. However, it is recommended only when all other form of genital wart treatments has failed to suppress the virus. In this process, your warts are destroyed with the help of an excessively high-powered light beam.
