McSteamy’s steamy video not a ‘sextape’, says lawyer

Eric Dane

Eric Dane aka McSteamy of Grey’s Anatomy is one blessed celebrity. He may be the epicenter of a sex tape scandal, but there is no trace of any wrinkles on his forehead courtesy of his lawyer. Eric’s lawyer, Marty Singer, has defended the video – which shows the Grey’s Anatomy star, his wife Rebecca Gayheart and another women in apparently compromising positions – by saying that it’s not a ‘sex tape’ but just a memoir of a private, consensual moment.

People quotes Marty Singer as saying,

This is simply a private, consensual moment involving a married couple, shot several years ago, which was never intended to be seen by the public. Although the participants are nude, the tape is not a ‘sex tape.’ It is a private tape made for only my clients’ personal use, and nobody has the right to exploit it. If anyone exploits the tape, they will be violating my clients’ rights and will be exposed to significant liability.

The video features McSteamy in 3-way action with his wife Rebecca Gayheart and Kari Ann Peniche, who was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2002 but was later stripped of the title after posing for Playboy. I’ve not yet seen the video but I’m totally impressed with Marty Singer. What a brilliant way to tackle a sex-tape scandal! I hope other celebrities will make it a point to include Marty Singer on their speed-dial list at their earliest. Good show, Marty!
