Kama Sutra is one of the ancient books that have ever been written about sexual intercourse and man-woman relationships. It has specified many rules that can help a man and woman choose their right life partners. Vatsyayana has done exhaustive research regarding the physical features of women and their nature.
He has advised men to choose a woman who can bear their passion and keep up with their sexual desires. The shape and size of the yoni or the vagina has an important role to play in this selection process. According to Vatsyayana, there are three types of women, deer, mare and elephant. Kama Sutra has also directed men to avoid some particular types of women.
Avoid the leper
In the times of KamaSutra, there were no treatments for curing leprosy. It was a contagious disease that made a person untouchable. The lepers were outcasts and they were not allowed to mingle with healthy people. They were sent to places where no one but only the lepers lived. Leprosy can be translated into STD for the present generation.
Women who have some type of STD have to be avoided. Through this suggestion Vatsyayana has asked men to practice safe sex and not risk their lives for few minutes of pleasure. The underlying message also emphasizes the need of knowing your mate before indulging in sex. Sex with strangers can be risky.
Avoid having sex with blood relatives
If we are to believe the story of Adam and Eve then we are all brothers and sisters. Incest is nothing new but it is not healthy. The law doesn’t permit one to marry his sister. It is a forbidden relationship that is prohibited by society as well. The main reasons why having sexual relationship with blood relatives is forbidden is scientific. The kids who are born out of such relations have weak genes. Sometimes children born to such parents have physical or mental defects and cannot survive for a long time.
Avoid the wife of an influential man, a king, a friend or a relative
If a man wants to live a peaceful and respectable life, then abiding this rule is really necessary. A king is mighty and powerful. In today’s world a rich influential man, your boss or a politician can be considered to be mighty. Having affair with their wife can result into dire consequences. The wife of a friend may be seductive and beautiful but having sex with her will mark you as an untrustworthy man. You will lose your friend and most others from your circle may start avoiding you. The wife of a relative is another forbidden fruit but such sexual relationships hardly have any future.
Avoid unreliable women
Vatsyayana has also emphasized the importance of trust in a relationship. Even one is having just a fling with no strings attached it is necessary to maintain the privacy and keep the secrets secret. This is only decent thing to do. If a woman is incapable of keeping secrets and she is just having sex to get some juicy gossip about your business or workplace to blackmail you later on then avoiding her is the only option that you have.
Vatsyayana has also asked men not to have sex with women who have been thrown out or cut off by their friends or family, but that is unreasonable in today’s world. Ultimately playing safe is the only thing one should focus on while choosing partners.
