Bronze sculpture celebrates Oprah’s generous curves

Controversial sculptor Daniel Edwards has finally come out with another nude celebrity sculpture and this time his muse is the TV chat mogul Oprah Winfrey. The bronze sculpture portrays Oprah in the nude with curves like we have never seen before.

Complete with a head full of curly hair, large bosoms and bootilicious thighs, the statute bears an uncanny resemblance to the coffinette of Egyptian boy king Tutankhamen. I’m not sure how supportive Oprah will be of this venture especially given her long-standing and very public battle with weight-loss.

But the 42-year old Edwards says his work is a tribute to the billionaire entertainer who he considers to be the closest thing to a living deity that America has.

The sculptor has courted controversy in the past with famous works such as a ‘dead’ Prince Harry clutching a cameo locket of his late mother, a life-sized sculpture of a nude Britney Spears giving birth and a dead Paris Hilton, again in the nude.

Personally I like the detailing of his life-like statues, but this obsession with nudity and death is downright disturbing!
