A children’s agency which is run by the federal government is funding a research on old men’s sexual habits. It sounds strange but it’s true. The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) have funded more than one hundred and thirty five thousand US dollars for a three year based study on a research about aging men’s sexual behavior and analyzing the reasons for which the disorders may occur. New England Research Institutes (NERI) has been given sixty eight thousand dollars in the year 2001 and sixty nine thousand dollars the following year to do a research on the trends of sexual behavior. A house of department of health and human services wanted the explanation for this research and how it may be useful for the children who are affected by pediatric deceases. The government Reform house sent a letter to the HHS Secretary in order to know about the funding that is needed for the research. There was also a list of all other applications regarding the children health and pediatric diseases were rejected during granting this research.
The barriers faced by National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development have been criticized much for funding research on sex. In a previous research, the agency which is the part of National Institutes of Health, paid women to watch pornography to determine their arousal of sex .Robert Knight, the director of the Culture and Family Institute at Concerned Women for America referred to this research as “disappointing”. He also added the Bush administration is making people’s health related funding a waste. The congress allotted money for the aid of children who are the victim of pediatric deceases and the government is using it to fund the research on old men’s sex habits. It’s the same pattern of the game that used to run in bill Clinton’s era. He also compared it to a similar research which was conducted on basis of homo sexuality.
Reaction of the republic party
The republicans were angry when they came to know that The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development have funded one hundred and thirty seven thousand dollars on the research, where they paid a woman as much as one hundred and fifty dollars to watch a pornographic movie to analyze the arousal of sex. Congressmen described the project as disgusting after a rejection of his idea on a project on measles, mumps and rubella vaccines. The budget of The NIH has been more than doubled in the last five years, a Florida republican also added that they can fund a pornography viewing research with one hundred and fifty dollars but cannot help a research on the relationship between the children and regressive autism and the mandatory vaccines. The US taxpayer’s money have been used to arrange these sorts of research which generated lots of hot talks but no remedy have been founded yet to help the deprived children for whom the funds were raised and allotted.
